Since 2008 - every year has been so good and so different, thanks to the wide variety of singers, bands and the 'vintage' DJs who come along to play some terrific music in the breaks- just like the old dance hall days with live bands plus the Jocks  'spinning the platters'.  A really nostalgic night that brings back the memories of a carefree age and sees the older generation dancing to the same groups as they did back in the Swinging Sixties!  Also, the younger generation soak up the atmosphere as it gives them a taste of what it was all about- many of them wishing they had been born earlier!  This 8th November show now extends the music to the Sounds of the 60s/70s/80s as we now see even younger audiences come along so now cater for their tastes on our 16th show since 2008.

The Concorde Moldy Fig Bar can be used for pre-show drinks or snacks so please get in touch to check out the options. If you are travelling some distance, then you may wish to book an overnight room  at the hotel part of the Concorde establishment - The Ellington Lodge.   More info at :

ZAC AND THE ZEROS

A welcome return- by public demand  - after previous appearances on our annual shows. This terrific New Forest group are kept busy on the corporate side as constantly booked for private functions, festivals and venues across the area. With the addition of Tara and Hannah  adding classic female vocal hits as part of a fast-moving party show that keeps audiences singing and dancing throughout their set.

Established in 2014, Zac And The Zeros are Hampshire’s Premier Rock & Roll Party/Function band playing hit songs from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. The band consists of 3 vocalists, Tara, Hannah and Simon, Tara also plays Saxophone and clarinet, John & Jez on Guitar, Ian on Bass, Danny on Drums.

John Goodwin, guitarist, formed Zac And The Zeros 14 years ago. His first band The Tempests played local venues back in the 60’s. Later he formed a heavy Rock Band “Below The Belt” but then decided it was time for a change and started Zac And The Zeros specialising in Private Parties, Weddings, and Corporate Events

Tara Joanne Hopwood, began her professional career as an actor musician appearing in various shows across the country. She stared in productions such as Spend Spend Spend with Craig Revel Horwood, Buddy vs the Killer which toured to Singapore and her last tour was Dreamboats and petticoats which solidified her love of 60’s music.  Now a vocal Coach and musical theatre Teacher - “Music and performing have always been at the heart of everything I have done and playing with Zac and the Zeros is a real joy”

Hannah Meredith has been qualified as a vocal coach for 9 years and has had wonderful experiences working with West End singers, recording artists, and running vocal workshops. Singing with Zac and the Zero's allows Hannah to put her own voice to use and have a lot of fun doing so!

Simon Roper, vocalist, started singing with a pop choir ‘En Masse’ who performed all over the South Coast. He later had his own vocal harmony group before joined the Zeros in 2010

Danny Pearson is a professional drummer & teacher from Bournemouth. His students have won the UK Young Drummer of the Year & UK Hit Like a Girl competition. Danny played with platinum selling artist Rumer.

Jez Shipton began playing guitar at the age of 11, and later joined the popular South coast group called The Trevor John Band for 27 years, before joining The Zeros.

Ian Walker originally from Liverpool is the bands bass guitarist. Ian who now lives in Bournemouth has played in many bands over the years. c

This brilliant line-up includes two nephews of local legend Rick Brown whose own Ricky and the Hilites were one of the very first local professional groups back in the early Sixties. Like the Beatles, they honed their talents with tours and residencies in Germany and other countries as well as securing a record contract over there.  The first UK group fronted by Indian twins - Rick on lead vocals alongside his talented twin brother - Chris 'Burnsy' Brown on lead guitar and vocals.  Burnsy sadly passed away in the USA back in the 90s, leaving Rick to carry on with a solo career as well as fronting other groups.  2008 saw Rick coaxed out of 'retirement' to headline our very first 2008 Concorde 'Back To The Sixties' Reunion show that packed the club out.  Other appearances followed with great success until we lost this incredibly talented artiste in  2011 aged 67.

Rick Brown- 'Black & White' CD

His nephews Andy and Steve carry in with the family tradition, having also appeared on another of our shows and this new line-up promises to knock out a great show as usual as well as paying a tribute to the best soul singer ever. We always remember him and many more of our old pals who are no longer with us. This old webpage and others offer some more info- needs updating
